I have had many great days in my life. Eric always picks on me because I remember dates of random things. I remember the date we met, and when we shared our first kiss. Those days are special to me, but there are others that stick out to me as the greatest days of my life.
My first greatest day ever was April 12th 1982, the day I was born. It was on that day that God allowed me to be born into a great family. He gave me a mother who has become one of my best friends, I can only pray my girls love me as much as I love her. God also gave me grandparents whom I have grown to admire so much. If I can be half the woman my grandmother is, I'll be doing great. So my 1st greatest day ever is April 12 1982.
Over the next several years, I had many great days. But it wasn't until January 12 2001 that I had my next greatest day. I gave birth to my Beautiful Chian Everdee. I named her after my mom & great grandmother. With that name she carries a big mantel from God. Chian was there during some very dark days in my life. I often say that she saved my life, because if it wasn't for her there is no telling where I would be, or even if I would still be. I love my Chian so very much.
Less than a year later I experienced my next greatest day. December 1 2001, I married Eric. But this day isn't just great because of that. This day Chian and I became part of the family. I got a mother and father in law that really surpassed any thoughts on what in-laws should or would be. I never felt any less than loved from them. My favorite memory after Eric and I got married is my mother in law getting a highchair for Chian and having it stained to match her dining room furniture. At the time there were no other grand kids. It seems silly to some, but to me that meant she really accepted me and my daughter.
The next few years had there fair share of hard times. Eric and I can both look back and count the many, many, many hard times we had together. But my next greatest day comes on October 28th 2006. It was on this day that Eric and I discovered how much we really loved each other, and realized how precious our marriage is. After coming dangerously close to a divorce, we decided that our marriage was meant to be and worth the work. I have a friend who recently got married and said how great it was that she finally found her soul mate. Well I think its sweeter when you realize your soul mate and the one God has made for you is the man you are already married to. I love my husband so much, and I am so proud of the man he has grown into and continues to grow into. Life hasn't been all rainbows and sunshine since that day in October. But instead of letting hard times push us apart, we allow it to pull us together. Thanks to those hard times we are stronger.
My next greatest day came on Feb 26 2008. God gave us an angel, and we named her Kaylon Grace aka Daddys girl! I named Kaylon after my mother in law. It gives me pride to have her named after a woman I admire & love so much. A woman who has worked so hard during her life and has the success and admiration to show for it. I hope that Kaylon has the same tenacity and drive that she has. She is sure to be a force to be reckoned with, much like she is now, when she gets older.
The last and my most recent greatest day is November 15th 2010. This day, God gave me my faith back in the form of my sweet Abigail Faith. Hebrews 11:1 Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. When I lost my baby the previous October, I had lost my faith. I was so depressed. I couldn't understand why God had let that happen to us. When we found out I was expecting this baby, we were shocked to say the least! Picking her first name was easy, naming her after my husbands great grandmother but I struggled finding a middle name. Until one day I saw the word Faith and it just spoke to me. She was a sign that I was getting my faith back! So when I think about my Abigail, to me she is the substance of everything I had hoped for, and is now the evidence of everything I could not see. She is my Faith. She proves that God always has a way of showing us His love. His timing is perfect. And though we may not always understand why things happen the way they do, God will always reveal to us His perfect plan. And He is always on our side. And when you least expect it, He will restore your faith.
